I first got interested in technology that supports youth events while coaching little league baseball. Anyone who was familiar with the team I helped with knows that the term “coaching” was a bit of a stretch. I was an assistant to someone who really knows baseball. I’d help the kids with drills, help with warm-ups, was the team treasurer, helped with team communications, insurance…all the backoffice stuff that no one sees but is essential to running a successful team. At any rate, one of my favorite things to do was keep stats with a really cool app called GameChanger.
As much as I hated keeping stats on paper, keeping stats on GameChanger transformed the way I viewed baseball and the way I saw family members fall in love with our team and make connections with my son (a member of the team). Family members would send me photos of them watching our game’s live stream from the craziest places – all because they couldn’t be there to watch the action. One dad, who had to teach his high school class and couldn’t make a tournament, showed me a picture from his classroom during the game. GameChanger’s live stream was projected in his classroom for his entire class. Another photo came from an doctor showing our game in his surgery suite!
Still, others wanted to see the live action. Many wanted to see more than what the stats were telling them. We live in an amazing world. And, the technology that’s available to us today is transforming the way we can share media and bring live streamed events to anyone’s mobile device anywhere in the world. I created MaskCast to reinforce connections that families have with each other. Have a nephew performing in another state? You can watch balls and strikes live on MaskCast.
We look forward to sharing these memories with families across the world. Please let us know of interest in your area. We’ll do our best to MaskCast technology deployed there. Also, let us know what features or services will make your MaskCast experience better.
